I am TOTALLY disgusted with myself. really. Truly. If I had a cat-o'nine-tails and a very bendy arm I'd be flailing myself til I bled. Why?
Cos I'm NOT going to be at CHILLED on Sunday, thats why. My unbroken record of 10 on the bounce has been interrupted by my going on holiday. Which is a pretty damned poor excuse, but it's the only one I've got.
UNBELIEVABLE! How on earth did I manage to double book it to coincide with my favourite event in the calender? FOOLISH! Thats how I feel every time I think about the friends, good time and fine music I'll be missing out on. DISLOYAL! That's how I feel cos I'm turning my back on the chance to hear one of Nibblers ace sets. ARSEY! That's how I'm gonna feel whilst sitting on a train (delayed, obviously) whilst remebering all the things I could have been doing had I not been such a complete and utter turnip.
So- to everyone whose going, and especially you BOINGERS, have the best time of your lives and teach me a lesson I'll never forget.
And to Angel, Pete, Andy, Shelley, Oli, oh God and everyone else whose input makes this fab day happen...

Yeah Andy... I know there are loads of others behind the scenes who make the Planet Angel the phenomenal phenomenon that it is (try saying that at 6AM on Saturday!)
As I've said before it's easy to forget that London is the nightlife capital of the World and by that definition, Planet A has to be one of the worlds best- and most successful. No one person makes something like that happen- there are dozens of you slaving away. And over the years I've been going and been influenced, I hope I've shown my high regard to different those individuals, at different times and in different ways. (And if I haven't got round to you yet, it's only a matter of time!)
But Andy- where you're concerned things are a little bit different. As you rightly pointed out, plenty of folk gave YOU a helping hand. We all need mentors to improve and learn the ropes in WHATEVER we do. Someone whose criticism we can trust. Someone whose criticism is succinct, to the point, even harsh sometimes... But the REAL skill there is not being so harsh that the students hopes are crushed and devastated. And not many people I've met have that skill. You do.
But you need to know that there WEREN'T plenty of folk to give ME the mentoring support YOU recieved from others. In fact, there was only you.
And when you break it down to it's sum of parts, you didn't have to listen to hundreds of hours of my choons- you had your own to listen to. You didn't have to make a point of seeking me out and chatting codshit with me at Angel or elsewhere- but you still did and that made me feel valued.
In fact, had you tried to, you probably could have gotten away with doing the minimum for me that would allow you to remain within the planet angel ethos. And if you'd chosen that I'd never have your phone number, or an invite to the party a while ago. I'd never have got to meet your son, or have such a laugh with Shelley. I certainly wouldn't have got to meet (or show my appreciation) to all those other behind-the-decks folk at Planet Angel. And I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T be in a position where you would be congratulating me for what I'd achieved.
Because, quite simply, without you as my mentor, I wouldn't have achieved it.
It's because of all these things and more, over all these years and more, that I'm pointing my finger at YOU and saying 'thanks'. You have earned my respect, my loyalty AND my love, not because you gave me 'a break' or 'a gig'- they are just fleeting moments in time- but because you gave me all you could and asked for nothing in return.
So if in return all I can give you for now is a HUGE public thank you, I doubt I'll ever feel that's enough. And knowing the real man beneath the cans, I doubt you'll ever feel you even deserve that. But you do my FRIEND, you do. And I'm sure all the Planet Crew will agree with me on that point too.
Blimey! it would be a lot easier if you WERE an up- your- own- butt- superstar- DJ, cos you'd just take the compliment and tell me to F**K off. But then again... I'm glad you're just you.

Graham mate, it's great to be appreciated - thank you. But, you know, it isn't just me. I only got started as a DJ through the support and guidance and generosity of Planet Angel's REAL DJ's: without Rich U4-IC & Matt Therapy I never would have got going at all and Tequila & plenty of others have helped as well. If I've been able to help you, I'm well chuffed - it's all about passing it on. It's the way Planet Angel operates and the kind of people that it attracts. No big egos, no superstars - just all of us trying to help each other out and encouraging everybody to make the most of whatever creative talents they've got. And of course we all have Pete & Angel to thank for making it all happen.
Great news about your festie gig, G. I'm really pleased for you. Shelley & I will be there to shout encouragement!

well, thanks to this support and mentorship I'm happy to say that I've been offered a gig at one of the summer festivals this year (I won't mention the name, for t'would be bad manners on this site) and as you can imagine, I'm elated. So I just wanted to say a BIG, HUGE, MAHOOSIVE public thank you to Angel, Pete and all the other people that make Planet Angel such an important part of all our lives. What can i say that hasn't been said before! by anyone & everyone. My 6th & best PA (So far!) Sorry to anyone that i wasnt chatting to. I've just finished a 30 Day Detox from Alcohol today and was completely sober on Fri Night, although i think everyone thought i was off my head. I think its just cause i LUV to dance to good music and well the MUSIC WAS WKD!!!! I can be quite shy and mad at the same time!
Big shout out to the Drummers between the 2 main rooms! As if the music wasnt good enough, you added another dimension to my dancing (or at least i think so anyways!)
For anyone in the games area, cheers for the games of giant Jenga, it seems to have become my chillout spot, playing jenga and talking to ANYONE who's sucker to listen, (only kidding hehehe!)
Big shout out to (if i get the spelling wrong, please forgive me :-( hehehe)becki, annie, hannah, polly & anyone else that i was chattin to!
Thanks Pete & Angel for giving me somewhere to destress by dancing the night away! Next PA I've got one personal task and thats to meet and greet you personally and thank you for PA.

It's hard to start this up - too many good things happened at Planet Angel the other night, that I can't really believe it! The Eternal, Matt, thank you. The back-to-back, Therapy and Tequila, that worked so well, thanks. WaX Equestrian - you blew my mind. B-Fly - you were great, Nelson Dilation, you were great - everything was so good the other night, I don't know why. But it doesn't matter why - it's more importantly how! And that's down to all the people concerned in making it happen.
The guy who did the happening on the drums! Absolutely fantastic! I was so overwhelmed I couldn't speak. I've seen you loads of times at Whirly, playing your drum by yourself on the seats in front of the stage, and danced to your rhythms. Thank you.

Yet another wonderful Planet Angel. BeingEaster it was inevitably gonna be a quiet one and so it was, but oftenthe quiet ones have the loveliest vibe and that was certainly the case this time. Thanks particularly to Lianna for your lovely, lovely company throughout the night and to Polly who curled up on me on the sofa in the crew area and fell asleep (it was just like having a cat go to sleep on my lap? cute, and just great because all I wanted to do was just sit there with my eyes closed and absorb the music, so you were perfect company).

I'd like to big up Andy (DJ Nibbler). Top chillout DJ, good man and a great and patient influence in my developing career. In an industry where so many DJ's are messed up and paranoid about up-and-coming DJ's with similar musical tastes, Nibz has been a real inspiration and a true friend.
Plus he's got a big bag of kick ass tunes and he's not afraid to use them!
Those of you who have been too hot and sweaty in the meltdown room to check out his sets really should make the journey to the chillout room to check him out.

Well I can only reiterate what everyone else has said - What a FANTASTIC party. Planet Angel is a magnet for the nice people in london (and further afield).
Rolo - you were amazing, I danced solidly for all of your 2 hours and when the music stopped at the end I realised that it was the only thing holding me up and had to sit down with a thump (thanks to arif who caught me).

If PA didn't keep getting better and better evey damn time I go then I might stop now to say something along the lines of "best Planet EVER!" about last friday.
However, planet does keep getting better, and we all know deep down what would be written, and what has been written many times before on this board, so I wont write it again, but i'll think it until next month.
If life is a journey and every day that passes another mile beneath our worrying, hurrying feet towards that final light.. then Planet Angel must surely be the service station of the gods.
Have another spectacular month Party People, I wont be with you on the 9th, so have it extra bloody large without me and i'll see you all next time.

wow what a night, it was definitely one of the best, totally amazing crowd! highlight was definitely dancing on the front podium in the main room all night (was it me or has it got bigger?), you meet SUCH cool people up there, i made so many new friends! respect to all the glowstickers and hugs to all the other people i met along the way (too many to name!) and of course my jennie who i always have the most fun nights out with!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!! PA is where it started for me, 15 months ago. I don't know what did it on Friday, but it felt like coming home. The best so far!! I'm liking discovering new places and vibes, but PA is my home.
Meeting lots of new people, catching up with friends, seeing sooooo many happy, friendly people and the bestest music!! PA ROCKS. Can't wait for the next one!
