Turning a huge empty warehouse space into Planet Angel is always a herculean task. We’d spent 3 long hard days rigging the venue and many more preparing the visual and musical treats for our first New Year's Eve Ball. Even with all that effort as ever in a new venue for the first time, there are things that can be improved and unforeseen things like a temporary water pressure drop are a real pain but overall the consensus seems to be - a great Party...
Actually we really want to know what you think; we’re always trying to improve so we’d love to hear your views on the type of Parties you prefer. We’ll soon be posting a short poll where you can give us your view...
Particular mention needs to be made to the DJ’s who rehearsed hard before the Ball to give us a magical musical journey mixing genres so well for the whole night, that was a great effort and definitely something we’d like to do again. Holding our first Party all in one space instead of separate rooms seemed to initially raise an eyebrow on a few faces with some people concerned that they’d not hear their favourite music but the feedback seems to be that it worked, and people enjoyed the togetherness. And Custard’s drumming solo! Excellent indeed and just the thing to spice things up at midnight and of course Sly One Verses Jurrane – a fantastic first live performance; those guys are true professionals and destined for great things we think!
The DJs were silhouetted by the excellent visuals provided by the Stickman Collective again a concept that we’d definitely like to try again. Thanks guys for the preparation and excellent performance on the night.
Terrific efforts all round by the performers and crew who pulled together and kept their cool under sometimes hectic conditions to put on the best event we could.
If you came to the Ball, we hope you had a great time. Enjoy the photos and see you at the next Party on Friday 5th February where we’re back in more familiar ground ;)
We're always interested to hear from people who want to get involved, there are a great many things you can do like rigging, guest photography and hosting to mention a few. To find out more please see the Getting Involved section or use the Contact Form for general enquiries.
