Review by Planet Angel

What a fabulous gathering that was!  We’d been very careful in planning *Chilled* in a Field; it was our first outdoor event and we wanted simply to take the essence of Planet Angel *Chilled*, and share it over a long weekend in the country.  We aimed to create a fun, social, family friendly gathering of like-minded people; a place where you could socialise, dance, be creative, connect with nature and with other people... And it looks like it worked!

Thank you! Enormous heaps of thanks to the many Crew and Contributors who worked so hard in the build-up and breakdown and during the event to create such a wonderful weekend for everyone.

Their efforts are all the more incredible when you take into account the gales of Wednesday and Thursday which completely collapsed the Chill Tent and caused serious damage to the Big Bar marquee as well. With the rig set back by two days the Crew put even more energy into making everything the best it could be -  ready to welcome the smiling faces who had come from all over to chill in a field.  What a team!

We also want to extend our huge thanks to our host, the lovely farmer who put his trust in complete strangers and allowed us to use his beautiful fields and woods; not only for the actual event, but also for the weeks spent preparing the site beforehand :)

Didn’t we have fun!?!  Musically there were moments of spell-binding beauty as people were literally moved to tears by outstanding live performances both in the Dell in the Woods and in the Chill Tent; including one by Angel herself. We’ll be adding full artist details and hopefully some live video  to the review pages soon including info on the DJs who pitched the musical soundtrack perfectly to reflect the energy of the day and night; as one happy person said as she left; “and we danced, and we danced”...

We were kept busy with workshops and activities galore! The lovely sight of people; kids and adults, learning belly dancing or Tai Chi, or building a castle with recycled paper... and the balsa wood aeroplane workshop!  And Hippie’s marvellous marble run; what fun that was!

Send us your photos! Remember the Planet Angel *Chilled* in a Field Photo Competition is now open.  Send us your pictures and the ones that best capture the essence of the weekend will be showcased in a special exhibition at the Big Return Party on Friday 10th September and a gallery on the website.  The best photo will win a free Party entry.  Email your entries to photos@planetangel.net. The closing date is 31 August 2010.

Tell us what you think: We’d love to hear what you thought of the event, send us your feedback to help us make future events even better.  You can email your comments to us to admin@planetangel.net

Get set for next year: We can’t wait to welcome you to the next *Chilled* in a Field event.  Make sure we keep you up to date by joining our dedicated mailing list.

*Chilled* in a Field really was like a dream come true, one that had been waiting for years to be able to spring into life and perfectly display the essence of Planet Angel.

Thanks so much to all of you who came and added your sparkle, love and smiles to create such a lovely weekend.

Big love, the *Chilled* in a Field Crew
